About Us
A Little History -
This church began on June 24, 1904, as a mission project of Grace Reformed Church of Akron. Membership grew rapidly and in June 1906 the cornerstone of our first church building was laid at the corner of East Market and Seiberling Streets. By the summer of 1925, a new, larger facility was needed, and on Easter Sunday, April 4, 1926 the present building was dedicated.
Organized under the auspices of the Reformed Church tradition, the congregation affiliated itself under the merger of June 1934 with the new Evangelical and Reformed Church. Following the recommendation of denominational leadership, and affirmed by a vote of the congregation, this church joined along with the body of Evangelical and Reformed Church with the General Council of Congregational Christian Churches in 1957 to form The United Church of Christ.
We are committed and active members of The United Church of Christ (UCC), and also maintain an affiliation with The National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC).

In May, 2014 we called David Brown to serve as our Pastor. David is a lay minister in the United Church of Christ with training through the Eastern Ohio Association's Partners in Ministry program. Come be a part of the next chapter of our church's life story! Visitors are always most welcome.
